A Good leader is a good listener
You are looking at me and not listening to me.
Have you noticed this inner voice while talking to any of your supervisors?
Luckily, I have noticed the opposite of this with many of my supervisors
Several years ago, I was a Project Manager, and the leader I used to work with had a unique listening ability. He does not react or show any cues of body language, but used to challenge my thinking behind the words spoken. At some point, when I was under stress, he used to make a statement that would touch my heart.
I learned from him, to look for Intent, content, and emotion behind my spoken sentences and unspoken words. If I must learn about others, I must listen to others properly.  This awareness is helping me in becoming a better coach.
The Best Leaders are all good listeners. Leadership can become tiresome and exhausting resulting in having a very less attention span. As a leader, Listening is the best way to learn about others and connect with them.
I have noticed successful leaders touch the heart before they connect with others.
I keenly look at Indra Nooyi, Satya Nadella, and Sundar Pichai and notice how to respond to various situations. They actively listen to the ideas, insights, and inputs of their employees and customers. It has been a key part of their leadership strategy.
If you want to be a Great Leader, first become a great listener
